The only entity this guy can sue is the Chicago PD. United did nothing wrong.

I don't know a lot about it but I believe with put options you can put up a small amount with the potential for large profits. As far as it being worth it, even if they just made $1000 it didn't cost them anything except their soul

I'd be delayed for a few hours for $800... I hit up a bar at the airport pound a few cold ones and watch a game I bet on.. No biggie.. Then have an $800 coupon to use in the future..

The price changes once boarded. 800 dollars may work waiting in the terminal, but not worth listening to after storing overhead been and buckling up. It might take twice as much after boarding. The same deal just won't fly (excuse the pun). It's just like selling a car. If I have a second car and the other one is working fine I may take blue book value, if my other car is stolen or catches on fire, it's going to take a whole lot more than blue book value for my only car.
