Monday Value Plays with writeups
I went 5-5 +0.94 units yesterday. Here are today's selections:
Reds +113: I don't care how well the Astros and Wandy Rodriguez have played in GABP. Aaron Harang is the better pitcher and the Reds are the better team. Plus money on the better home team is enough of a reason.
Yankees +100: The Yankees are starting to come together as the team everyone predicted they would be after their huge offseason. The Yankees seem to hit lefties well. They have an .896 team OPS versus them this year, which is 2nd in the majors. As long as Phil Hughes can keep them in the game, I don't see the Yankees losing this one.
Royals +126: I'm a big fan of home underdogs. Although Verlander has been good this year, he has not been so fortunate on the road posting a 6.32 ERA. Gil Meche is solid and is a gift at plus money at home.
