Ive lost about $12000 in online poker mostly (100% rigged) and sports betting over the last 9 years and now ive more or less stopped trying to earn this money back from these 2 activities. When i add it up this money would have been better deployed in mutual funds or fixed deposits, i intend to learn from my mistakes and not repeat my mistakes by deploying money in these gambling areas. Who else has lost how much, i want to hear from fellow losers who are in the same boat or about to end up in the same boat as me.

#7Most can't go without the rush. Change bet amounts. I found when I was betting "small" I won a lot more. I wasn't pressing as it didn't matter when I lost a $50 bet. In college i was betting $750 a game. Stupid. If you view the money lost as sunk and think only about how to have fun going forward you will be much better off.Comment -

#17haha wow I hear you----- Hopefully Karma (an upset person) caugh up with him at some point...
OK this is just random, my biggest gamble in life was about 12 years ago during the poker boom, "invested" 25k to start a performance engine shop and the last known whereabouts of the clown who set this deal up was Manilla, Philipines. Turns out he hit 5 other guys with the same pitch and took the money and ran. I definitely hear what you're saying pal, was merely pointing out the only way gaucho loses a couple grand is to an ice cold rig job.Comment -

#28None, deposited 500 about 2 years ago, been up to 10k been down to 1k. Going from 10k to 1k no fun so I do feel like I've lost quite a bit. Back near 4k, will probably avoid baseball and wait for football to come back around.Comment -

Now I will only play limits where I am comfortable and quit for an evening if I can't find a way to win. You can always focus more on sports betting and start planning for upcoming games. Your head is still in it but your bankroll is not.
I do; however, question why you are here. You are a newcomer and I welcome thee but I am doubtful you will change.
Perhaps I am misreading your post.
You state you will learn from your past and invest disposable income into investments rather than poker and betting. If that is the case, why did you join a sports betting site?
If you are serious, delete your account and start educating yourself on investment strategies and contact a professional.
If you don't, welcome to the board and consider you may have a problem.
Regargless, proceed with caution and don't chase your money. If you plunge back into the treacherous waters of online gaming, go small.
Just a heads up - having read the stories of many people who fell on hard times, 12k over 9 years isn't that bad.Comment -

#33I read about you earlier too JJ Gold, if i wouldnt stop my cravings id be in the same boat as you, i guess
there are some people who are really disciplined with 1% bankroll bets but im not sure if they dont make a mistake or lose in the end. Hope we both learn from each others situation. My dad once told me it was the wrong route to try and make money out of, sorry if this is bad for business, im just being honest. Having an honest discussion.Comment -

#35I have lost more than 12k just on online poker. It's a horrible feeling. I had to step away for a year and straighten out my mind.
