Nba players union did much better in negotiations during each cba renewal. They represent a very small percentage of people that simply put can provide a service no one else in the world can. International players here and there may come close but as a whole league no one is even close to the talent and final product the players provide.

Demand far outweighs the supply, the nba shouldn't care as much. Owners don't make their money on ticket sales. Most of the seats that are sold are to corporations anyway. The real money owners make is in marketing and television ads. Nothing to do with ticket sales and concession stands
