Have not watched TV in 135 days until today
After the NCAA football championship game I had my directv account canceled and I gave away all my TV's. Couldn't stand the fact that I was wasting so much time watching useless crap. You know what the worst thing was that I would buy all the sports packages and in the end not watching the games cause I bet too much money and couldn't handle the stress. The TV would pretty much stay on ESPN or ESPN2 depending on which had the score ticker. $100+ wasted every month to watch a score ticker. This was all fine and dandy when I was working 10 hours a day but since telling my boss to go fuk himself I found that I had 10 extra hours a day to fill.

I thought I could fill the missing time by playing cards 10 hours every night. It got so boring sitting there mucking hand after hand. I took the $800 I made playing 250 hours of low limit poker and bought one of those Sony Bravia HDTV's and now I am back to where I was 5 months ago minus the job of course.

Hi Emily, surprised to see a woman from Thunder Bay on the forum.Ever drive down to Duluth through Grand Marais on highway 61?Ever stop at Devils Kettle on the right side of the road where they have the underground waterfall that was a storyline in the John Candy movie The Great Outdoors?Stuff goes in and it never shows up a mile away in Lake Superior.I have a hunch that my buddy Don knew about this place.hehe!I have a cabin north of Two Harbors off 61 where the Thunder Bay guys used to come to and raise hell at.I live an hour north of Duluth in a town called Gilbert.Back in the 70's and 80's I was in Thunder Bay all the time.Do you know a guy named Don Saccino that would be in his early 50's?Last I heard he was in prison in Winnipeg for dealing roids to Canadian guys in every pro sport. He used to have a website called Pompey natural muscle enhancers or something to that affect. He had an office downtown somewhere close to the amethyst mine jewelry store with the hunk of amethyst in the window. He's ''or was''sort of the Tony Soprano of Thunder Bay if you do have a mob.hehe! He was always on business visiting what he called family in Kansas City and I was afraid of going there with him.The guy was a pretty tough customer in golden gloves boxing .He used to come down here alot and I went up there alot. That was until one hell of a bar brawl broke out up there at a bar on the lake front that was a biker haven. After that I said I think I'm getting in over my head being in this stuff in another country.Never went back after that.Man,Thunder Bay is a nice touristy family event vacation town but it has an underbelly.Ever go to any Wiskey Jack games or Border Cat games now?A guy in Duluth has some new but game worn Wiskey Jack uniforms at a good price.I used to go to the Dukes games against the Jacks in Duluth.

Do you still have off track betting at places like The Elephant and Castle?Ever play the lottery sports parlay cards? Are they a rip off or true to Vegas odds,I can't remember?Lots of famous people from Thunder Bay.Paul Schaefer,Tim Horton,Don Cherry lived there and the guy who was the hockey player who accidentally killed North Star Bill Masterton on the ice at the old met center in Bloomington.I met his kid last year after leaving the SBR bash.Lary Callihan or Callhan.Gotta google that, should know that one.

No more Canada at all for me.I used to go to Winnipeg every year in May to the races at Assiniboia. Now you need a passport starting June 1st and I refuse to give in to spending money on that.Illegals are waltzing all over the state and your province and they want to give the born here residents a tough time.

Do you still have all the shaker joints in town?2nd best to Winnipeg's though.

I never went to the Thunder Bay Casino. It seems like alot of Thunder Bay people drive to the casino in Grand Portage,Minnesota just down the road.Your Wal Mart was a treat to see.Kind of different. You guys sure like to shop in Duluth on weekends.
