The Padres have traded Peavy to the White Sox, pending his word on his no trade clause.

I would say the CWS were an infinitely better team if they were playing in the National League, but they are not. Peavy will be another NL pitcher who does average as an AL pitcher.

Would be a nice coup (in terms of Windy City PR) for the ChiSox after the Cubs rumors all winter and during the spring. Wonder if the rumors on Richard and Poreda going from Chicago to San Diego are that reliable. Poreda has pretty much proven to be the stud he was supposed to be as far as his minor league numbers go the past couple of years.

Actually no...their staff is not as good as it once was... One of the factors I look at for my pitching mismatch games is era and the White Sox as a team rank poorly at 4.58, which is 18th...

This trade actually happened last summer. Braves where to get Peavy but they got Vasquez who is better than Peavy and the Sox got Peavy for Vasquez who they lost.

If I was Peavy, I would reject the trade. White Sox aren't going anywhere this year, better to go to a team that has a good chance to be in the playoffs.
