I own many guns. I wouldn't be scared to shoot someone if I had to, but I wouldn't go shooting anyone that COULD be a threat. If you hear noises, do you presume its an intruder? Could it possibly be a member of your family or possibly a friend that showed up because his wife/girlfriend kicked him out and your wife let him in earlier? If there is an intruder, do you presume they are there with mischievous intent and ready to kill you? Do you really think someone who is there to kill you is going to "rummage" through your house before actually doing it?

Yes. Any means, if necessary. To come full circle, I have no problem with the CIA if they NEED to utilize certain tactics to keep us safe. However, how much are they going to get out of terrorists who have been incarcerated for an extended period of time, rarely have information pertaining to other terrorist cells, and are willing to die as "martyrs" to begin with. I have my doubts as to its effectiveness and publicizing it only gives fuel to those recruiting future terrorists.

That was a great speech by Obama on the subject of torture today and I must say that in general, I agree with his position or better yet, I understand his thinking.

But lets not kid ourselves, the CIA will go Jack Bauer on any held terrorists in order to get valuable intelligence that could save American Lives. You just won't see the photographs like before.

So what is? Do you turn on the light to see what is going on and hope for the best? If none of the above measures deter the noises in your kitchen from raping your significant other then they will get you no matter what by planting a bomb in your car.

My point is if someone is a professional and he comes to get you are screwed. If a petty thief or an amateur accidentally walks in to your house the above measures will be sufficient to protect your family. Now if you are watching 10 movies a month then no matter what you do they will still get you.

Without going into particulars, I would waterboard someone but I wouldn't want to be waterboarded.
