Yeah, why is that Hitachi $500 more than the Panasonic, or why is the Panasonic $500 less than the Hitachi? Does the Hitachi come with a hooker or something like that?

Ok, give us more details. From the prices, I think I can say they are not 1080p HD.

Do you want to mount on the wall? If so, the two Plasmas would be the route for that. If not, Id buy the Sony 46", but being a Projection LCD, its not wall mountable.

I have a SONY 46" True LCD 1080P, and its a nice size TV. Not sure you can see the difference in a 42" and a 46" unless you have them both in your living room.

What ever you buy, make sure its at least 1080i, so you can take advantage of the HD broadcast, you would never want to watch anything else.

Also, my wife just bought a SONY 42" rear projection LCD for the bedroom, and it has a nice picture. Its a 1080i HDTV, but she got a real nice deal since she works at RC Willeys. She got it for $850. She got me a nice deal on my SONY 46" LCD as well. The percs of working at a electronics/furniture store.

That seems like a decent price for a 1080p TV. You can even wall mount that one if you wish to do so. I would recommend everyone that is going to buy a new tv, make sure its 1080p capable. So your set for the future.

Let us know tomorrow evening what you end up with after you purchase something. Just dont rush, and if you have time, look over other options.

I have a LCD Sony with HD (cant watch sports without it). Its only 25' but I paid $2400 about 4 years ago. Damn now those suckers are cheap as anything. I guess I shoulda waited. But I love the Sony and I have a friend who has a Panasonic but I think as far as HD is concerned nothing beats the picture you get with a Sony.

                          I agree kalmikrazy.

Once you go HD, you will never go back.

Its hard for me to watch anything in Standard Def., I wish ESPN would get their damn college hoops in HD already. Geez.

Thats true JJ. But I cant take the tube because those things are tanks and take up to much room. Id rather have the slim lcd or plasma. So I can mount on the wall if need be.

Any new tv purchase by anyone should be a HDTV. I will never buy anything less.

Very true statement. Its very hard for me to watch anything non-HD.

I bought a 46" BRAVIA™ XBR® LCD Flat Panel HDTV (1080P) right before football season started last year. Love that TV. Looks good mounted on my wall.

Just get an off brand and save a ton of money, 700p also is not that bad comapred to 1080p.

With HD you really are not going to see that much of a difference in picture and who really cares because it is not like your watching tv day and night.
