Tough question, kinda like asking if I like rapists more than child molesters.

Yeah you made me laugh, doesn't make me want to like you though, you're still an American - the second lowest life form on this planet. Only Quebecers are lower.

I wish Quebec had separated in the 90s. They are a drain on the country, but instead of admitting to it, they think Canada would be nothing without them. Do you know that most Quebecers actually believe that if Quebecer were to separate they would still be eligible to receive equalization payments?? Unreal.
Send them packing and then we can lose the useless maritimes too.

Me too, Canada would be better off without Quebec.
No doubt they only suck money away from the provinces and offer nothing but headaches in return.
Next time Quebec so much as mentions separation it will be time for Canadians to congregate and expel them from this country, on OUR terms, not theirs.
The arrogance of the separatists is truly amazing.
PS : You are the least convincing JJ ghost I've ever seen at SBR.
For the record, I'm all about stopping equalization payments. That money pretty much all goes to silly social programs that serve no purpose other than provide cushy jobs and retirement plans to people who pretend to offer services to the population. Provincial government is a whale and an abomination.
I might ask Texas to adopt me.

Matty I'm aware you are not a separatist, and thats a good thing, the problem is that there are still too many (separatists) in the province that wrongly believe Canada owes them a living and will do anything to avoid Quebec leaving.
Canadians are very tired of the separation threats and hopefully will no longer tolerate the behavior of Quebec separatists.
Life in Quebec is a long way from horrible and Canadians have finally gotten wise to the tactics of the parasite separatists (squeaky wheel gets the grease).
What adds to the anger is the fact that Quebec is no more yours than mine, this is a nation and every Canadian has the right to the entire country equally, pls the fact that any decision regarding the future of Canada must be made by ALL citizens and majority rules, Quebec does not have the population for a majority in this country and shouldn't think they can do what they want when it would affect British Columbians as much as Newfoundlanders.

plommer, there haven't been separation "threats" in quite a while. That was the previous generation's (baby boomers) dream. Movement is dying down.
Methinks you're looking for a group to hate. If it weren't us, it'd be someone else. There's a lot of hate in you, plommer. Very unhealthy.

Matty, it's true, I love to hate but with the USA right next door I'll never have to worry about running out.
I hope you are right with your assertion that the separatist movement is dying down in Quebec.
I remember being in the States years ago watching a news story where a Quebec woman was wearing a Quebec flag saying this was her flag, not the Maple Leaf! Very annoying.
Matty the fact that the Fleur Des Lis is so important to Quebecers tells me they really don't consider Canada their country, a provincial flag is mere decoration in other provinces, the only flag that matters (from BC to Newfoundland) is this one:

I understand your point about the flag, but the Quebec flag represents a unique, homogeneous culture - if I ever did the backpacking thing, no doubt I'd put both flags on there. Both flags equally represent who I am.
I don't deny your right to get pissed off at an obtuse separatist. They annoy me more and more, and I grew up in a very pro-separatist area (working class 'hood on the East end of Montreal). The younger generations are much worldlier and quite critical of their predecessors, to the point that Gilles Duceppe had to tone down the separatist talk during his last campaign if he was to have any chance to win (he did not -35% of the vote).

Make that Pauline Marois - forgot we had an election as early as last December.
She is a prime example of the dying breed. Separatism will become a sub-culture once these people disappear.

Quebecers, even if they are not separatists, still have this sense of entitlement that they believe justifies all the many favours they get from Ottawa.
I haven't checked, but despite recent adjustments I am very confident Quebec has the most seats in parliament per capita than any other province.
