Here's what really convinced me to take Lakers -6.5

Watch these ESPN experts hype the Nuggets, it's ridiculous. Is this a preview for a playoff series or a commercial for the Nuggets?

I know the Nuggets have got no shot after watching that bit of hype! ESPN and Vegas work together alright.

Here's some actual quotes from this Nuggets commercial, I mean series preview ("they" always refers to Denver):

    "Denver was the TWO seed"
"The leadership of Billups, it's amazing."
"Denver's bench is just as strong as the Lakers' bench."
    "Denver's been terrific."
"Denver's been one of the hotter team's in the league."
"The Houston Rockets are a weaker version of the Nuggets."
    "They're playing with unbelievable intensity."
"They're playing with a lot of confidence."
"They've only lost two games in the playoffs."
"They've got talent, they've go to guys."
"They've got every piece that a great team needs."
"They're gonna give the Lakers all they want in this series."
"I don't know that these teams can defend the other team."
"Look at how potent Denver is now."
"You start talking about Carmello who is as good a scorer from the four position as there is in the league."
"J.R. Smith can score 30 off the bench any time."
"Denver Nuggets are a big, strong, physical team."
"They're confident and it should be a heck of a series."

Meanwhile, they mentioned nothing positive about the Lakers except for how the Rockets prepared the Lakers for DENVER'S physical style. They clearly tried to hype the over too, you gotta watch the video.

yup. lots of peeps on denver. but i still took lakers. a lot of these so called experts are wrong. melo doesnt play the four spot. LBJ does when needed and they have a small line up. if melo is on four, they must be in trouble. JR Smith, i like that flashy guy, but he is a streaky shooter and doesnt defend well, thats what he has done last season so i dont expect him to change to much. nobody mentions how birdman, martin, jones and even nene likes to get in foul trouble. free throws and penalty is like giving a lease for life on the opposing team. the character of a team will be tested when they are backed against a wall, havent seen that with this denver so i might as well go for the tested, arrogant, underachieving lakers.

The Lakers had won the previous game by 40, they won game 3 in Houston by 14, and they were 7-2 ATS v. Houston going into that game. Those are plenty of reasons to think they'd cover that spread.

This is a very square thought. Motivation is what matters when betting. Why would the Lakers go and kill themselves trying to win and cover 10 points in a hostile crowd when they can just cruise and wait till Sunday and beat the Rockets in scrimmage style?

            Oh wait...this is what happened.

There is about 52% bet on the Lakers right now. No matter what the media does it is very tough for the Lakers to not have the betting public on them.

Take the 6.5 points. Nuggets are a different team that lost to the Lakers 3 out of 4 times this season. Lakers will have to play hard every game this series since they are not playing a depleted Rockets team, although they showed more toughness than the lakers. If not they do not they will lose this series for sure as Denver is a hungry team with a lot of energy and scorers.

Look at their two road wins: at Utah they won by 14, at Houston they won by 14

They worked their butts off to get those wins. Kobe played like a man possessed in game 4 at Utah to earn that. I don't see why I should've expected them to cruise in Houston in game 6, they had NO HISTORY OF DOING THAT BEFORE.

                                I don't get your point.

I've been saying to fade the Fakers at all cost but the media hype over Denver may provide the chip on the shoulder that the Faker's needed. I was going large on Denver (10 units) but I'm taking the Laker's 1 Unit as i think LA will take this game to try and make a statement. Yes Denver is playing well but they've really played 2 lousy teams IMO. The Lakers have been battle tested with a quality Utah and Houston teams.

Laker's -3.5 first half, -7 game. 1 Unit each. BOL

New Orleans and Dallas were better teams than Utah and Houston. Denver just made them look bad and Lakers made Utah and Houston look good with their shitty play.
