Worst bet of all time?

I don't know about other books but bookmaker has the Lakers odds of winning the title at +105.

I would think the Lakers would be at least +130 to +150 dogs v. the Cavs. So, you're taking +105 now and the Lakers have to beat a very tough Denver team then you lose badly on the line for the next series (almost definitely).

The only way Lakers +105 to win the title is a good bet is if you think the Magic will beat the Cavs and I think almost everyone knows that would take a miracle.

Lakers +105 to win the title is the worst bet I've ever seen. Any thoughts on that?

On the flip side, if you can find a book that allows you to parlay these two bets (odds from bookmaker):

Lakers win title (+105)
Magic over Cavs (+540)

That pays out 12.12 to 1. That's a tremendous bet that everyone should take, imho.

I got it. That's a good bet. If a book was offering "Lakers don't title -125" or something I'd jump on it immediately.

Sorry i didn't make it clear, in England we have a betting website called 'Betfair' where you can bet against something happening. Essentially you take the role of the bookie. So for instance, Lakers are +105, to bet against them would be +110, so you bet to win £100 but risk to lose £110 if they did actually win the NBA this year. I'm sure it's on wikipedia if i didn't make it clear, my mates don't even understand it but it is better than betting the other team sometimes

I doubt that shit books who offer +105 on Lakers will offer a line on Lakers no.
And nobody in their right mind would give out the parlay on something so correlated as Magic series with Lakers champs.
But you're right about that bet being very bad and your thinking along the right lines.
