Just made 2nd call attempt to JetBlue. Got the $150 waived. Had to sweet talk Natalie a bit (not sbr Natalie I left that at the bash) but she got it done.

I'll consider that $150 cancellation fee waived 1-0 start to the day.

Still took a small hit booking that 2nd flight out but zero complaints...after all it WAS my buffoonery. Finally occurred to me why it was so easy to misclick months. With the short Feb it's the one time the 6th of the month fell on the same day of the week.
