That's not your responsibility. If she would harm herself over you leaving her, she is a very unstable person to begin with.

It is my personal feeling that our lives are far too short to spend time being miserable with the person we are with. Granted, if children are involved, it is your responsibility as a parent to take the welfare of the child(ren) into consideration before making such a drastic move. But if kids aren't involved, you can often do a great majority of the paperwork online prior to hiring an attorney.
