Bad Hockey= High Scoring Games

When was it hard to score a goal? Maybe early 2000s. Look at the 80s though, games were brutal.

High scoring is because of the new refs who call virtually everything. Def makes for exciting games but yeah I appreciate an intense 2-1 final.

Game 7's in the NHL are still my favorite sport event to watch. The NHL lacks marketing. You have 2 games 7 tonight, in 2 of the biggest hockey markets on at the same time, is just plain stupid. Bettman needs to be fired, the NHL needs to contract, and Canada needs atleast 2 more teams.

Boston is weak, talk about Montreal or Toronto and those are the two largest next to Detroit.

I was talking about the US, I just assume Canadians are going to watch game 7 in the hockey playoffs. IF the Bettman and the NHL want to have hockey gain market share in the US they need to get the games on tv. Boston is a top sports market, and others will jsut root against Boston because of their recent success in other sports.

did the two games overlap tonight? i only caught the end of Bruins game

If they didn't overlap, then a doubleheader may be a fine idea rather than splitting them up.

If overlap then he should be fired.

Like Deuce said Wings at 7 and Bruins at 8. Not that it matters all that much since some people dont even get versus.

This series looks to be a snoozer. Expecting a lot more from the east finals. Btw, jj and whoever, sumo is not good hockey. Great plays and scoring chances make good hockey. The game doesn't have to be high scoring, but there needs to be puck control and chances.

Goaltending also is way down

goaltenders are given smaller sticks now, too because the nhl wants higher scoring games because they think this will attract more fans and that it is why soccer is failing in america (because of low scoring games, which isn't true)

It's the refs..TOTALLY, they call the lamest penalties that you would NEVER EVER EVER see called 10 years ago in the playoffs. It's rediculous the penalties they call and all the diving going on in the playoffs..Did anyone see the penalty on Getzlaf last night that was the worst call i've seen all year. I've played hockey and been a huge fan my whole life but I hate how they're calling penalties now. I was watching the game and as soon as Anaheim tied it up I KNEW there was a power play coming for detroit and what do u know? a couple minutes later the weakest call i've ever seen is made. The Blackhawks-Red Wings should be the best series of the playoffs, it's gonna be insane. Any real hockey fan will agree, how can you beat a conference finals with two of the games biggest all time rivals? This series is gonna be physical and as intense as it gets. Lets go hawks.
