Nevada, Delaware, ect are not half the type of sports betting operations like Jamaica, Rebatewager, Greek, Carib and others are
LOL!!! Anyone going to Delaware and betting generic lines has to be the biggest loser that ever lived.
Who cares if it is legal, you got gorgeous sportsbooks right in front of your eyes with more lines ever imaginable that could and never will be duplicated with legal places and have the 24 hr availabilty like they have.
You think Delaware is going to have qtr lines, soccer lines, tennis, ect and have early openers the night before??
LOL!!!!
Only people that will be ebtting there will be the squares that never bet online before
lol yeah i was the vegas hilton for march madness and their book offered shit for soccer and tennis. They had Premier, Serie A, and La Liga with no moneylines. The only tennis match i could bet on was a final. I asked the pitboss if he could put a final between nadal/murray on one of the smaller screens. He laughed in my face. Ill take my computer where i can bet on anything and watch anything any day.

Delaware does have one distinct advantage.
Immediate payment.
But hey, we would all rather wager on a first round ATP event in Bumfookwhatchamacallit than have cash immediately, right JJ?
As for this being a "parlay" option betting lottery. That is just wishful/hopeful thinking among the offshores, because Delaware will allow single play wagering.
The lines are stale? Then take advantage of them. Good players should slaughter stale lines, so what's the objection here?
The Delaware Supreme Court will rule on the single play issue next week, and no one believes they will rule against it that has been following this issue. The court is lined up firmly on the Gov's side.
Also making the offshores (and Vegas) nervous is the Federal action filed by Jersey State Senator Ray Lesniak, which is calling for the federal law prohibiting sports betting in all but four states to be ruled unconstitutional.
Lesniak has some Senate fans.....at least a dozen have expressed an interest in overturning the legislation and creating money for their cash strapped states. Also, with the Obama administration needing all the sources of tax revenue they can create, no one sees them objecting.
2 years ago no one expected Delaware to have sports wagering. It is just a matter of time before Jersey has it, and then the doors flood open.

I'm stunned the legislation has gone this far. Regardless, I give this governor credit for having some balls to hold off likely federal threats to stop the legislation. This guy would have my vote in a second for president.
I still have doubts that someone won't derail this, but if it happens, it would be a gold mine for Delaware. This would be a big economic boost, so of course, the powers in Washington will fight it tooth and nail because that's what they do.

I think execs were told parlay betting will fail like it did years ago in Pensy or Delaware so maybe then they know this is just an in too get full fledged sports betting. The story is starting to get bigger nationally too. ESPN had Delaware Gov on today.

Gov. Jack Markell joined the show to discuss Delaware's decision to allow sports gambling.
Markell said that he got letters from NFL and NCAA saying they were against it. But Markell said that he hopes to work with them. Markell wants to sit down with the NFL and make sure they have the right regulation.
Markell explained that 30 years ago that Delaware had a sports lottery and it wasn't successful. But when the U.S. outlawed legalized sports betting across the country, states that already had it were allowed to keep it.
They're not permitting betting on any Delaware teams and people can only bet at three locations -- all horse tracks. And based on law, they can't expand past those three locations.
Markell said that they asked the Delaware Supreme Court for an advisory ruling on whether they can do parlays.
Montana and Oregon are also grand-fathered in, but haven't moved toward legalizing sports betting yet.
The story is below. What do you think? Is this a good move for Delaware or is it socially destructive? Hit the Comments or e-mail with your thoughts ...
NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Delaware becomes the only state east of the Mississippi River to allow betting on sports after the governor signed the legislation.
Gov. Jack Markell signed the bill into law last Thursday.
Officials say they expect to have sports betting running in three months and table games such as poker, blackjack, craps and roulette, in play in no more than six months.
The sports lottery is key to Markell's plan to address a projected shortfall of more than $600 million for the coming fiscal year.
parlays wouldn't be so bad if they atleast offered reasonable prices, the yankees were minus 300 yesterday offshore , here in ontario ,canada they government lottery had the yankees at minus 660 , on top of that you have to parlay three teams min.
