Are security guards allowed to carry firearms?

They are here... The guards at the downtown casinos all carry.

I think they need a certain license to be able to carry though.

I think it depends upon the state. Not sure if the laws have changed but when I was in Arizona just about everyone could carry a gun as long as it wasn't concealed.

Not a security guy but here in FL there are 3 different types of security licenses. Unarmed (most hotel/mall types), armed just at work (armored car type guys), and armed that can carry anywhere, which isnt really any different than having a FL concealed weapons permit, as far as where you can carry. Its going to be different in every state since its a state law thing.

Doesn't it seem odd though that PeeMike would just abandon a 15-year career as a decorated officer with the Chula Vista police department?
