The two lead stories in the YouWager promotional email sent to me are celebrity stories having nothing to do with sports. Is that appropriate or even make sense for a sportsbook to do?

I got that too - it's just a way of getting people to the site. Once they're there, there's a good chance they might login and place a bet which they might not previously have done. Got to admit I clicked on the "Orgasm Disease Hits Japan" story.

This is just some buzz word marketing. If there is a prop on if the book will get the tape, take no for the max. You will see a few sports gambling forums market this way too. People searching for "Britney Spears" will eventually be exposed to one of the "press releases".
