Welcome back ijw2bp! It's sad that the moderating at SBR has become so draconian in nature. I have to concur, it's not unlike the approach taken by communist China. There's no attempt to truly moderate and take proactive steps to diffuse conflict. They let things build to a fever-pitch and then send the supposed offenders packing.

Back in Dan's day most of these situations never came to a head. A Mod would send you a PM asking what the problem was or just telling you to calm down, and that was it. Now it seems, with the exception of Dave, they can't be troubled to actually communicate with posters. They just let things build and then start clicking on the ban button. It's a shame, because they lose the loyalty and respect of people in the process. This place used to have all the trappings of a true virtual community, now it's a Gulag where posters are exploited without shame for their losses to generate affiliate payments. The SBR I joined was better than this...

Not that I know firsthand, but I have a feeling that the lack of solid moderating has a lot to do with the amount of workload placed on each moderator. We have to keep in mind, they don't JUST moderate the forums, and they are probably encouraged to just handle the infraction and move on.

iwanttobepaid, I am sorry that I said something about your mother. I didn't have anything to do with your restricted status as I didn't even see the posts before they were edited.

and dave, nowhere did i say u were communist, i was refering to the decisions that are handed down w/o a chance to argue or appeal... i do not mean to disrespect u in anyway though dave, u are a good man and just do your job. I am just expressing my opinion on the recent operations of this forum. I just wanted to see if any others feel the same way. But u are a good man dave and i do not thing you are a commie in any way my friend and i am sorry if i came off this way. I also believe that this forum is better than any other, but by no means do i believe it is perfect.
