i hate hilary............ but why shouldn't california and new york be heavily influential in deciding the election? seems more fair than other large states that were won by under 1%.

one thing to keep in mind is that if the popular vote determined the president the votes might be marginally different than they are today... people in cali/ny and tons of extreme trump states don't have to think about whether their vote will change the national result. with popular vote, their vote would actually mean something.
