I can't believe I won so much money on the show. I look at my account and theres 6 hundred more in there. win paid 12.80 and show paid 33.40. Why is that?

Bridge-Jumping is the term Slim...when you have a heavy favorite (1/5 or 1/9 usually) people hammer the horse to show to make 5 cents on the dollar. You will have 95% of the show pool on this horse so when the horse runs out of the money (rare) the show pool must still be paid out so the payouts are huge.
Example, on easter sunday there was a 4 horse race at los alamitos. The horse who ran 2nd was only 6-1 but since there was a 1-5 shot in the race (no show wagering) and all the place money was on him, the 6-1 paid ~$14 to win and $105 to place. Its something I always try to watch for but you MUST have 90%+ of the place or show pool one on horse.
