The Bob Knight chin nudge drama
Is it me or does anyone else think the media is blowing this thing up? Both the parents who played college ball have no problem with it as does the boy. They said they see no harm in the coach trying to get their son to play good ball as they both come from the old school of hard knocks. I think something like this happens from time to time but since this is Knight I feel they making it look like the PJ Carlisimo junk. And by the way, I am no Knight fan by any means.

Was this nudge he gave the kid way too much?

Is the media really overreacting (like they dont do that already on a regular basis)?

The kid has no problems with this either. Im thinking if he did he would have slapped a law suit on Knight like everybody does now a days and transferred to another school or gotten Knight fired.

Cold Pizza had a fucking clinical psychologist to evaluate the incident!!! Give me a freaking break!!!

    Any thoughts???????????

This is another reason why ESPN's Sportscenter, Cold Pizza, and Around the Horn are soft in my opinion. I cannot stand watching some of these idiots. Sportscenter is becoming all about drama instead of sports. Bob Knight is a teacher/authority figure and should be able to act as such. Shiit, that is the only way kids get the point some times.

If all parties involved are OK with the incident then I don't see a reason for discussion.

Espn just wants a story. They don't care if it hurts a respected coach. To showcase another's small mistake, if that is what it was, before the entire world is the far greater mistake.

The kid got a little tap on the chin. I can hardly wait for Espn to start covering Iraq.

            Never much liked Knight.

But compared with my ever-rising malevolence toward ESPN for what it is doing to sports?

            Neglible.

Shows how much ESPN needs stories to keep their 24 hour BS going. Don't think is that big a deal at all.

the media loves blow this stuff out of the water don't they. People forget he use to coach for a military school before, and the guy demand disapline. If the kid thought it was that bad he would have already filed for a transfer.

The kid/player will be a better man in life because of his association with Knight.

I would have loved it if the kid had said, "What do you think you're doing, you old coot?" and wailed a chair at him.
