well rocket i believe in mike babcock the leafs coach his mentor at detroit was the great scotty bowman who won 5 stanley cups now the leafs got a capable goalie in fredrik anderson plus the 12t. pk. in the nhl draft auston matthews he is on the 2nd. line with tyler bozak kadri needs to step up have you got a favorite team rocket

yeah man, I've been a fan of SJ Sharks for close to 25 years now. Started following that team from the very first season, when they were still playing in Cow Palace in Daily City and barely managed to get 17 wins on the season.

My 8yo son suddenly wanted street hockey gear and a jersey all in Sharks colors for Xmas during their first year too.

Not even sure where he picked it up from as there was zero coverage of NHL down here in those days.

Think they came out with cool colors and design and snagged a lot of young fans early that way.

yes rocket and guys i live in oakland ca. and watch every sharks game on the local channel here next to leafs i love those guys in teal oh wow they just dropped the puck in tor.-ottawa game on channel nbc-sp guys p.s. rocket remember 3-4 yrs. ago when the sharks led 3-0 in games over kings in playoffs then lost 4 str. and kings won the cup unreal and yes jjgold this is one tough field to compete against gl all

OVER are coming in like crazy. It will, without a doubt, slow down. Maybe we'll actually see some 6 point Totals out there, but if we do, expect the scoring to drop shortly thereafter.

Here's a little info to share. All this research isn't my own, but some is:

In the last ten years the average NHL save percentage has risen, nearly every year. Last year it peaked at .915.

At this point this year, the goalies are a mere .898 in save percentage. It hasn't been this low in 20 years. It will go back up.

In the last 10 years, the average goals per game has fluctuated between 5.3 and 5.7.

This last week we see 6.5.

Way back in 1993 the average was 6.5 goals per game for the whole season. In 1992 it was 7.25. Things have really come down since way back then.

Generally, the average goals per game after 36 games is higher than the same stat at season's end. They won't likely keep this OVER pace.

Here's what's happened with TOTALS in the last 10 years through the first 36 games...

Heavily priced 5.5 lines and 6 point Totals will be sign of a market turn.

Some argue to hammer the OVER until the streak stops, but I argue that you can never tell when you are in a streak, only when one just ended.

Things will level out and I hope the NHL is benefiting from the increased action.
