Saw the start of the Astros game. During the national anthem, I saw several players from Venezuela, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic standing, and showing their respect. Colin needs to talk to these guys. They might be able to explain to him that he just might have had it pretty good being born here.

Several throughout history have given up everything for their people and some not even their own people. I didn't join the military for the pay, public defenders don't, and certainly Moses didn't do what he did because of monetary gain. Thousands of stories during WW2 of families putting themselves in grave danger to help out others, I don't think I need to insult with further examples. I'm sure there are people that are sacrificing themselves for their churches, communities this very moment.

I am not comparing Colin to these examples just merely stating that some people are driven by things other than material gain. If I were to be your friend and I told you the VA has treated me horribly, I'd hope you would take that under consideration and speak on it if given the chance. The problem comes in when the ones we listen to are possibly feeding us a bunch of bs or are misinformed and lead by media. I think Colin falls into that latter category but that is an assumption. Either way he chose the wrong actions.

If he was complaining about this a few years ago when he was at the top of his game, I would consider him "Gangsta" enough. But right now he is just a pissed off drama queen trying to get his job back.

I think this is more about him losing out to a 2nd rate white QB who doesn't have tatted up arms as big as he does.

As a veteran, and of the millions of veterans that have served our country for over 200 years-he has his right to voice his opinion even if it is misplaced. Even though, it shows, he doesn't understand what the value of the national anthem is, people like me and many others defended his right to the freedom of speech.
