In a separate incident, Notre Dame cornerback Devin Butler was arrested early Saturday morning on preliminary charges of battery to law enforcement and resisting law enforcement in a separate incident.

Looks like only one starter. I think we need to investigate further on him and it may take a week. The rest are just kids it looks like. They deserve due process. This will require a full investigation and we will see if we can't get this wrapped up by Nevada.

I don't know ND depth chart that well...but if 4-5 of these kids were going to get PT and are canned, that hurts their depth. Will be tough to beat the SEC schools & Ohio States of the world with no depth

Butler was breaking up a fight between his girlfriend and another girl (he pushed his girlfriend) because the girl called him poodle (his nickname from his hair) and the police ran up from behind him. If you get ran up on from behind while trying to break up a fight while drunk you can imagine whats going to happen. Those are arguments his attorney will make for him while in court, off the field for the season it seems. Max Redfield has already been given the get notice he's off the team.

Here is my take, devil's advocate, on the Butler scenario though. He was already injured (refractured foot after Spring ball he;d originally hurt in December) and was slated to miss several games this season anyway. Talk was he may defer the season and use eligibility for next year. That is a silver lining that Kelly might argue in order to let him do his punishment for the crime and then come back IF the university will allow it. Might be out of the football dept's control is the felony charges stick regardless. He should have known better, bottom line. Just because she is your girl, doesn't mean you can shove her and regardless of past incidents on the officer, in that moment, you don't fight with him and not expect consequences. I think he's done though, 'he gone'!
