I would like to be able to think for myself and make picks for the upcoming football season. I know the rules of the game but little else. What would be a solid first step in learning how to think about the matchups and making solid decisions?

#2Read weighing the odds by king Yao, and sharp sports betting by Stanford Wong. They won't guarantee you win, but they are a few good first steps.Comment -

#45 easy steps for you son
1) Go back to grammar school and learn how to write
2) Hopefully while doing #1 you also figured out how to read
3) Pick up a sports betting book
4) Open the chapter on why you can't win
5) Find a better way to waste your time and moneyComment -

#7Don't get discouraged. Realize it's a lot of work if you want to win-long term... but getting to that point (and the learning on the way) is actually more fun than making the money.Originally posted by mighty maronThank you for the bluntness.
