Nicky, can you explain something for me?
nicky, ive lived in the south all my life and for the life of me, i can only remember there being 1 ice skating rink in my area. it was in a mall that was in the hood so i never learned how to skate. so you gotta excuse me if my question sounds really stupid. i simply dont follow hockey enough to know the proper hat trick etiquette and was hoping you could provide some help.

i am assuming that when a player gets a hat trick and everyone throws their hat on the ice, that hat is gone for good. no way really to get it back. nicky, what happens to those hats? does the player keep them or something or are they donated somewhere. also, what happens to you if you got one of your favorite hats on and dont feel like losing it. will there be a mob outside the place waiting to stomp your ass or what? do you carry a spare shitty hat just in case?

i have been to many hockey games and have seen many hat tricks and i never throw my cap on the ice cause it's stupid. .ive had some expensive caps and no way i waste that hat that fits great on my head that i have searched for months to find.. only the losers throw their caps.. remember, there are like 3,000 fans with caps and we only see about 100 caps.. that's like 3% of people only. so 97% don't throw it..

as for where the caps go, i think they donate them to charity and hospitals, or salvation army, etc... i heard it was one of them.
