Trump on the other hand has been calling out bad business, and is going to put pressure on business to either come back home or pay the price " it's not fantasy, it's logical... So you're saying there's a guy on the 2016 ballot who believes in the constitution (Johnson), but you (and presumably the rest of the votes-with-the-crowd types) are going to wait until a Constitutionalist is on the ballot in the future? There aren't many forms of government which seek to impose laws based on the most popular religion...if that's the sort of thing you're looking for, the Middle East is pretty much the only place where they do that. There was nothing broad about what he said; he specifically referenced passages of the bible which contradict our modern ethics, and to which various factions of self-labeled Christians assign varying levels of importance, depending on that sects specific interpretation of what's supposed to be Gods's word. Your beliefs being a good example of this: I know we've discussed int he past, and you've excused the Old Testament stuff by saying the New Testament stuff replaces it (despite there being only words to the contrary in the Bible to support that notion). Moreover, if Obama not being the same sect of Christian as you is a disqualifier, how the hell do you vote for a guy like Trump?

Now stop and ask yourself how specifically he plans to accomplish what he says...he can't take action on repatriating business, or building a wall, or repealing obamacare or any of that crap; it's not in his power to do so. Furthermore, even if it was in his power, notice how he has no plan to do it? A wall isn't going to build itself, and the money for it isn't going to turn up out of nowhere...he's not going to get China to act differently by just telling them to, etc. Bottom line: when a guy talks about doing something, but has no ideas how to accomplish it and no track record of implementing anything politically, you're foolish to hire him and just hope he figures it out.

For sure, Clinton will carry on the same way in all likelihood...and when Trump's best plan is worse than what Obama or Clinton proposed in their campaigns, it's a safe bet that Trump's plan will be worse.

A big part of why we have such a debt problem is voters who are satisfied that a candidate expresses concern for the debt, instead of requiring the candidate propose a plan to fix it. It looks like you're committing the same mistake with Trump: you want to hire the guy who doesn't have a plan and just trust that he'll just come up with a better one once he's elected and has a ton of other things to worry about. Doesn't seem like a very smart assumption...

The idea that Mexico (or China, or other countries) is raking us over the coals is seductive...always easier to blame others for whats wrong, but the problem with that is there isn't much proof to support the idea. Blaming an outside group for all the troubles to gather popular support is nothing new, but neither is it any more valid for being an ancient technique of gaining power. When I think of how the country has gone downhill, the vast majority is self-inflicted.

I don't disagree with your assessment...now you have to understand that, rationally, Clinton and Trump are equally terrible candidates (big on rhetoric, short on plans to actually do what they say, continuers of the status quo...her through preference, him through ignorance of how to change it and/or lack of desire to do anything better) and a vote for either is essentially the same. The largest voting bloc is the non-voting bloc for precisely that reason, because they don't see the point in wasting their time and gas voting between a turd and a douche. Fortunately, those of us judging candidates by more than their rhetoric (not trying to be insulting, but there's no other way to phrase the truth) have a better option in Johnson (or Stein, if government-solves-everything is your cup of tea), one that lets us express our support for the best choice regardless of how irrational other voters may be.

If Johnson miraculously falls off the ticket, and I can't write anyone in and have to pick from what's left? Next choice would be Stein, because she at least advocates for a better foreign policy, and her domestic waste wouldn't be any worse than Clinton or Trumps, and I can at least send the message that Clinton and Trump are unacceptable candidates. If Stein miraculously disappears too, then it's really hard to say...I lean towards Trump over Clinton; Clinton's status quo presents my life with knowable, predictable obstacles that I can probably overcome, but Trump's instability and general ignorance of everything a President should be might wake enough people up and get them to approach voting a bit more rationally....would be more painful in the short run, but perhaps best in the long run to have Trump instead of Clinton.

We've had this debate, which is why I won't rehash it with you...but I'm just pointing out that not supporting a candidate because he doesn't have enough support is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Assuming the goal of voting is to pick the candidate you think is best, limiting yourself to the two most popular options because they're the most popular is counterproductive.

One thing I didn't bring up when you and I discussed is the similarity with Trumps situation...as it stands, barring the quitting/death/arrested scenarios, we have a ton of information showing Trump has no chance.
