In the moment, Rubio's debate moment seemed bad, but it's only in retrospect that you understand its impact. It seemed like Rubio still had a chance, but the chances were severely diminished. Trump really took the race over in NH and ran from there. If Rubio wins NH or even finishes a strong second, it changes SC and so on.

Since you went back and looked at the odds, please go back and look to see what Rubio's odds were the day before the debate and then the day after NH (5 days later).

Not what I was saying. Rubio wasn't going to win but he was poised to get over 20% and come in strong second. Instead, he cratered and only got 10%. Everything is magnified and it set his campaign so far back they couldn't recover. It changed everything. Again, not declaring that he definitely wins without that debate, but I think he likely would have. 60-65% chance. No way I can prove it or you can disprove it, so we'll agree to disagree.

If the election were held Monday, Donald Trump would likely win.
That's what renowned statistician Nate Silver projected on Monday for his
data journalism outlet FiveThirtyEight.

In his "Now-cast" election model for who would win if ballots were cast Monday,
Silver gave the Republican nominee a 57.5% chance of winning the presidency.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton had a 42.5% chance of securing
the nation's highest office if voters were to take to the polls Monday.

Silver's model had Trump winning in the swing states of Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina,
Iowa, Nevada, and New Hampshire. He would win 285 electoral votes in Silver's model.
It's the first time in Silver's "Now-cast" forecast that Trump has been projected to win.
