How many of you guys have been walking home alone from school or work doing nothing wrong and been stopped by a police officer who points a loaded weapon at you and tells you that you don't have rights in his world?

Some cops definitely get punished when it's clear, cut and dry but you're right that the majority of toss ups go the way of the cop

It usually ends up where the cop gets off and the family gets a multi-million dollar settlement.....Sad but that's what we're dealing with

And these settlements don't bring back someone's son, daughter, father, mother, brother, sister, friend. Instead it takes money away from the city/state budget that could be used to put more teachers, firemen and police officers on the street. All settlements should be funded first with the pensions and savings of the guilty officer(s). It sucks for the families of the bad cops but hey he was aware of the consequences of his actions and still did it. Didn't care about his victims or his family.

I really applaud the MN governor for his statement. He is speaking the truth and hopefully he has the will to enforce change in his state.
