    Four Arrested in Gambling Sting
Four California and New York men have been charged in an internet-based sports gambling ring that handled nearly $1 billion in bets during a single football season and ran a team of employees in Costa Rica, prosecutors said on Thursday. Gordon Mitchnick, 58, Joseph Schneider, 39, Arthur Rossi, 66, and Claude Ferguson, 43, were charged with crimes including enterprise corruption and first-degree promoting gambling in a 57-count indictment, Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson said in a statement. "Illegal gambling is not a victimless crime," Thompson said.

I wonder which websites these were and who these guys are on SBR.

Rossi, I have heard that last name associated with a book before. Can't remember which one? Was a customer service guy, wonder if they are linked.

3rd guy pictured was defiantly an SBR member.(picture 4 on slide show)

Once again it makes me wonder about the legality issues, which always confuse me. So they broke the law because they are Americans, where it is illegal to gamble outside of reservations and Vegas.

But it is legal for us Americans to gamble our money at the Costa Rica books because gambling is legal there?

Never gotten a clear answer on this stuff.

Sounds like a Pay Per Head operation through Locals.

PPH has gotten to be the Amway of Bookies.

Pyramid Scheme unless you go out on your own.

927 million bets on NFL in one season? It has to be a big Costa Rican book. Does 5dimes even do that much action in 5 months of football season? That's 50 million every Sunday on 14 games.

It's gotta be locals using PPH software. And that's where the pyramid scheme comes in. I set you up and you play with me, then you go out and get some players under you and your man gives you 25% of your guys losses, rinse, wash and repeat. Gets bigger and bigger.
It's not one of the sponsored type books here at SBR.
Not many gamblers here going through agents for a 5Dimes account, you post up and then wait to get your money when you cash.

I understand, just too many guys involved in the bust on US soil, to be any regular offshore type house.
These sponsored offshores here on SBR, you post up individually and get paid (if you get paid) by them individually.
This bust had to much money and too many people involved, not to be locals on a PPH plan.

#'s are way off....when they pop you they combine the risk/win numbers to make it look way bigger than it actually is. Trust me, I know first hand. Legit number is prob 2/3rds of stated whole figure, Fukk the feds

If your sheet took in $50,000 in action and $49,000 was paid out the crooked ass feds tally your sheet @ $99,000 instead of +$1,000.......Numbers get astronomical that way. Trust me, These cocksuckers have been on my front doorstep. All thieves

Costa Rican bookies lack the facilities really so people have to look elsewhere to bet.
