As huge of a Niner fan as I am and as much as I love Willis I couldn't say that he is the best player in the nfl. He is a badass though. Solidifies the defense and makes plays all over the field.

Not enough people get to see him play. He is the best player in the NFL imo....

I watch every Niner game...the guy is a beast and a great player. Wouldn't quite call him the best in the nfl but he is among the best defensive players for sure.

Patrick Willis...LB for SF....he's a solid LB for that team...but Ray Lewis is better than him and maybe Urlacher. Willis is top 3 at his Position, but not the best.

if you are gonna pick a linebacker pick one with a bit more big play ability in James Harrison.

but I think the best player in the league almost has to be a QB or RB, since they touch the ball the most, Every play for a qb, and thus they impact the game alot more then a LB that might only be involved in 70-80% of his teams packages

you can't really pick a BEST PLAYER In the nfl there are tooooo many positions....with too many different assignments.....and different purposes

you are comparing apples to oranges to pears to grapes to prunes ect ect

for years maybe Jonathan Ogden was the best player in the NFL because he was SOOOOOO much better then everyone else at his position it wasn't even funny.... but no one would really ever say that..

If I'm building a defense give me a guy like Ed Reed or Troy Polomalu to start with.... If i'm building an offense give me a younger peyton, a healthy tom brady or Big Ben

urlacher is not better than him. you can make the argument willis is a better MLB than ray ray right now.

willis is a tackling machine and a playmaker. not best player in the NFL tho. that is reserved for..................................... .. really tough question i dont think a best player exists.

brady, a. peterson, larry fitzgerald. those top 3 come to mind.
