    action bets
I would love it if Bill Dozer could chime in here, but any opinions are clearly welcome.

I'm wondering how safe actionbets is right now. They experienced a run on the bank a few months ago, which they were able to survive. As long as they didn't lose too many customers, they should be fine right now at least with the books dominating this NFL season.

My understanding was that everyone got paid in the end. I thought it was a slow-pay, not a no-pay. If they can survive a run on the bank, I raise my rating rather than lower.

I was paid there within the last 2 weeks, in 5 minutes too.

They were downgraded from C to D-. They blamed their situation on a corrupt employee (Adam), and took the money from some players brought in by Adam (apparently a 6 figure amount), saying that they had paid out more in bonuses than what they had reclaimed. They never took responsibility for having hired that employee, nor for the people brought in by Adam, but simply distanced themselves. In this mess they played the roles of investigator, prosecutor, and judge all in one. In other words, when things get ugly they give themselves a lot of leniency and are inclined to take the easy way out, explaining everything in their favor and not admitting to any mistakes. I was paid by them, but won't be playing there anymore unless they can somehow make it to the B books.

During their crisis AB insisted that players met their rollover before allowing any withdrawals, even when they were unsure if they would survive. While this worked out in the end, the fact that they were completely insensitive to players concerns is not something that should be easily overlooked or forgotten. If you were on board, you were going to go down with them. Even if you wanted to get off the sinking ship... (This also meant you had to meet rollover with the clear possibility that you would never get paid your winnings. At least one poster here decided not to play at all for that reason, so his money just sat there).

I won with them, and respected Aden enough to give them the benefit of the doubt. In retrospect, I would give them two thumbs way down. These nice people should be running a coffee shop instead.

That is a different site altogether. The site we're discussing is actionbets.com. They are not a credit shop, at least not altogether.

                    Hi Tennis,

Dark Horse gave a pretty good summary to make a decision by.

Despite the deleted accounts and the RichCoast employee issues, one thing to remember is AB simply didn't have players' money. If you want to approach a book like a stock, then yes, they probably have been beating the few players they kept after the debacle and probably do have the ability to pay you...this week.

In fact, I know quite a few players are trying to hit the books with poor models at the moment. If the book just made an advertising investment somewhere that also adds to a temporary sense of security.

When/If Bill upgrades them then I will start my roll there.

Gut feeling is they will be ok but my Gut feelings have been known to be wrong in the past

My two cents. Complete the rollover before giving the new law a chance to take down smaller books. Chances are AB will be gone in a flash, should that happen. I completed the rollover with mostly smaller bets (few hundred) so that AB account wouldn't get up too much. They were slow with their lines, so I could scalp quite a bit. It was work, but it was worth it, if only because I'm out. Good luck getting out, one way or another.

Best bet may be to roll it while the gettins good. Or, let us see if you can give back the bonus and bet it through the required one time to cover deposit fees.
