You know... I suspect that like here in the US, many young people were too apathetic and didn't show up to the polls.

I bet they learned their lesson. Hopefully our youth don't have to learn a similar lesson. But I am a firm believer that, unfortunately, prudence is borne from pain.

To be frank greaser, you're re-entering the same set up that the majority of the rest of the world faces. Why would you want people in your country who are skillless, jobless, no or limited education, etc??? The ones who are skilled and useful to the UK will qualify for a way to get in via your Immigration department. They fall over their feet for those people. Freedom of movement is brilliant but do you really think it's going to be that tough?! Shit I know many Americans who managed to get in scary Cuba during the ban so I have great faith y'all will sort it out. Choosing to leave the EU wasn't a racist vote or one against those who are less fortunate or even one towards those who like to travel as that'll still be allowed obviously ( I can pop in the UK tomorrow with zero hassle)... it's about finally admitting you are a country of limited resources, nothing much to draw on ie no oil, coal, gold, etc and a massive influx of people putting pressure on your already stressed services. There's nothing friggen wrong with that - especially when the UK has funded so many of their EU "partners" for naught in return. It's enough now.

I'm an American, Shari. And really, for me, it is all about the economy. What I see is the UK has made a decision that they feel will be good for their economy, but they are mistaken. This type of thought process, or better, lack-of-thought process is a problem here in America as well. And it is more about racism than anything else.

Never was a fan of the EU to begin with. Each country has their own economies and how to run them.

While it was nice to have a common currency, having poor countries drag down prosperous ones was just
a matter of time before going bust. Have to give them kudos for trying.

Not sure why the refugees are a factor in the separation. Dosen't each country still have their own laws
regarding immigration? Were they trying to run the EU like the US?

What's next for Britain? Their prime minister left them high and dry.
