    Brock Landers - Geography buff
Brock, I too am into geography.

I am particularly interested in the bizarre, like these two very small parts of the United States that are not accessible by land via the US, you can only access them from Canada.

    For example:

    Minnesota - Northwest Angle - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwest_Angle

    Washington State - Point Roberts - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_Roberts

interesting, i was at Lake of the woods in 1988 for a fishing trip..

There is a part of Tennesee, Corona, which is WEST of the mississippi river.

      really interesting geography trivia here.

We all think of Canada as our neighbor to the north, however, there are states, or portions of states, that lie north of the southernmost point of Canada. Do you know how many?

Surprising isn't it? More than half of the states in the US are at least partially north of the southernmost point of Canada. By the way, Canada's southernmost point is Middle Island in Lake Erie at 41 degrees and 41 minutes north.

There is a part of Quebec land locked by the USA as well.

Check out the borders between Ontario/Quebec/New York on the St. Lawrence river.

Did you know that you can fish anywhere in Lake of the Woods with either a Minnesota or Ontario fishing license?

                  Yep, it's true.

Being in a boat on the lake you are free to roam anywhere but making land means you have to go through Customs/Immigration process.

Stay in the water and there are no immigration requirements.
