As A Giants fan I am really rooting for Lincecum, he had a HUGE hand in ending a very long title drought for the Gmen.

He dominated. The A's aren't a good litmus test though. Let's settle down until he faces a couple of the big boy lineups and then evaluate.

Will the Angels try to deal this guy @ the deadline? That's my question. They got him for basically nothing.

He really has nothing that makes him special anymore. He's really just a guy now. Good for a team desperate for pitching, but nothing that will bring anything in a trade.

I didn't see the whole game, just watched the highlights. The only run Lincecum gave up was off a broken bat single. Pretty damn good first start back for The Freak. Only 2K's though.

Nice game. Good for him to getting back to playing after those injuries.

I saw him pitch a few years ago and had a great seat about 6 rows or so behind the Giants dugout. The guy can throw some heat but I was surprised at how small of a dude he is......not very tall and dang skinny.

32 years old maybe time for him to be a bullpen pitcher, he still has a decent fast ball pitch at 92 mph which could be value for innings in bullpen role.

                                          Lincecum heading to Rangers

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Rangers have agreed to a contract with free-agent pitcher Tim Lincecum, according to Major League sources. The deal is pending a physical and has not been confirmed by the club.
Lincecum tried out for clubs earlier this month, and the Rangers were impressed enough to pursue the right-hander. Lincecum could join the ever-growing crowd of candidates for the Rangers' rotation, or he could be used out of the bullpen.
Lincecum did not pitch in the Majors or Minors last season. He was with the Giants from 2007 through 2015, helping them win three World Series titles. He was also the National League Cy Young Award winner in 2008 and '09.
But his career seemed on the brink after he underwent left hip surgery on Sept. 2, 2016, to repair a torn labrum. He tried to make a comeback with the Angels in 2016, posting a 2-6 record and 9.16 ERA in nine starts before sitting out last season.

Lincecum would be the fourth pitcher signed by the Rangers in February. They signed Bartolo Colon just before reporting to Spring Training, then signed Jesse Chavez and Edinson Volquez after camp opened.
