Did anybody win money on the derby?
    If so, how?

This makes like 9 years in a row the derby has cost me money, can't they cancel this thing and save me a 100 bucks a year

I could actually see someone winning money on this one... people LOVE exacta-wheels and people loved Pioneer of Nile... I'm hoping one of our resident SBR'ers wheeled Pioneer of the Nile up and down and got a piece of that $1000 $1 exacta.

3 of the 5 horses in the top 5 were on my ticket, but that doesn't do me any good.

"All" on top is the only way you hit that race.

I am surprised exacta paid that much with a pretty good horse second with a top jockey on it.

That's what I'm saying, if you loved PoN and bet the ALL with 16, 16 with ALL for $36, you made a nice $1000.

This horse had never ran a Beyer over 81, and just SMOKED this field. That was such an impressive run... as a fan of the sport I'm not even mad about the $51 I lost, that was a great ride.

The 3rd to last choice on top of the 3 choice in a 19 horse field, the derby. 50-1 over 6-1. What the hell did you expect?

No money here. Missed #7 to show by a 1/4 length. The overhead of Mine That Bird's trip is pretty f'ing insane. Borrell is such a simpleton, it's hilarious to hear him talk.

That simpleton has made more money in the past 3 years then you will make in your lifetime. I'm sure he thinks that is hilarious.

Oh I think he is a talented rider and I'm sure he loves what he does which is all that really matters. But, I doubt he has the capacity to find the subtle humor in the fact that he makes more money than many people with "quality" educations.

Also, I wouldn't be so sure that he made more in the last three years than I will make in a life time. What does he get for the Oaks and Derby wins? 200k?

I thought that dude that won was the highlight of the race, I was actually happy for him even though I have to apply for welfare monday morning due to losing the last 500 bets in a row

had half a unit on Pioneer of the nile to win and half a unit on dunkirk to win and had 3.75 units to win 1 unit on friesan fire to lose

Yeah buddy, he must have netted 200K in the last 3 years. There are middle class harness drivers who make that in a year.

Sorry if I struck a chord or something with you blue. I just think it is entertaining to hear an illiterate simple minded 40 year old speak. There is no sense in arguing about how stupid this man really is or how much he or I makes.

He took that horse for quite an amazing trip.

He got around $175K, but then, he has to break chunks off for his people, expenses. He still is golden.

Due to the condition of the track I decided not to bet. At least it didn't cost me money. But that Bird horse I can't believe how he found openings on the inside as off tracks "usually" bog down on the inside.

I loved the trainers comment after being asked about his drive to Kentucky with the horse. He ended up saying something about he'll be glad when the questions have more meaning then how long was the drive...
