I think that most bettors and the general public get caught up in the name that players have made for themselves in past years and fail to see the true merit a pitcher creates year to year. I try to make lists every year a few times to help reinforce in my mind who the top pitchers have been in the current season. I am quite sure that there is value in fading great pitchers having a bad year or bad pitchers having a great year as the average bettor doesnt see the trend very quickly. Ten eleven starts is a good sample size

My list is less about how people have pitched more, and more based on how I expect them to pitch going forward, with recent history more heavily weighted.

The one surprise for most people is that most people probably don't know how good Kyle Hendricks is.

It’s difficult to induce a lot of pop ups without allowing regular fly balls. Not impossible, but uncommon.

Some reading. Maybe Hendricks is too low.

Theo built quite a team. 5th starters should not be on MLB top 20 lists.
