About two or three days ago 5Dimes stopped rounding winning wagers to the nearest cent. I found this out unwittingly, because typically when I wager I'll include any cents in my balance from prior wins in order to leave my balance at a nice even number. (I know, it's kinda OCD, but bear with me)
The first instance where I learned of this change was betting a split spread in soccer (one team simultaneously at -0.5 and -1) where the team won by a single goal so half of my wager pushed and half paid. I'd wagered my usual $25, plus the loose 79 cents at the end of my balance that morning. The payout included a half cent, leaving my new balance at $550.375. This I found irksome, but when they refused to round down at my suggestion, I just made a similar bet with an odd number of cents, which paid another half cent, returning me to a normal looking balance composed of dollars and just two numbers after the decimal point.
Now today I made a wager on the Kentucky Oaks race which won, and out of force of habit I again included the loose 37 cents in my balance. The payout for horses being a much more complex ratio, I've now got $630.7894 as my balance currently. After talking to a 5Dimes representative on their Live Chat and being told by him that I was being "stupid" about this issue, I've come to accept that they don't care about me being satisfied with them.
I'd like to know if this is irritating anyone else or if I need to seek therapy for OCD. Honestly, the odd balance wouldn't ever me be cause to leave 5Dimes (they've been good to me, always paying very quicky in the 3 years I've used them as a primary out), but although I'm used to their reps being abrasive, I took large exception to being called stupid today. I'm now weighing their reduced juice against my dignity....
Any thoughts you might have would be most appreciated as I evaluate my stance towards them.
