It is just the opposite. You DO get paid in units because they represent real money won in your account. ROI is just a number that represents percentage gained on investment, and higher ROI usually translates to LESS units (money) won.

Whats better? (assume even money for demonstration purposes)

One guy plays best bet only for 10 days, other plays 5 games per day.

        10-0, +10 units, 100% ROI
        31-19, +12 units, 24% ROI

Not even comparable ..other guy got 40 more plays...make it reasonable

If best bet guy bet $1000 dollars and 5 game a day guy bet $200 each game

For every winning model there are five non-winning models. Notice LT is touting his MLB winning model but is not posting his badly losing NFL model or all the other sports he is in the red.

Easy to make it comparable, assume the same beginning bankroll and 2.5% per play.

And what do you mean "make it reasonable"? One guy bet one game per day and the other bet five games per day.

I agree with Darkside, I think in order to make your example comparable, both guys must have a same number of plays(i.e 1000 plays), then compare between ROI and units.

I think in your example, you compared apple and orange.

No, my main point is that I would rather have a lower ROI and more units won in the SAME TIME FRAME than a higher ROI but less units won due to fewer plays. 10 days is a microcosm for infinity.

Bottom line, units won trumps any metric you choose.

                          Paver why the jab?

LT might be most consistent 4 year capper we have

It's not a jab. It's not fair for him to be touting only his winning record and hiding his losing records. I'm fair and square here coach. I want him to be like you. Your spreadsheet has all the sports you bet. It doesn't say JJ has won 400 units in NHL and lost 600 units in NFL.

NFL was basically even Pavy. 73-72-4, -0.95

Winning in all current sports, MLB +11.42, NBA +9.97, NHL +13.25

                                units plus is pure profit.
ROI measures how efficient an investment is.
quite worrying that the discussion is sitting at that level.

what the heck is the thread about anyways.....if a systematic analysis generate profit over several seasons....it works...end of story.
