Women? If they look at me twice as if they can really make me think they're interested, my brain instantly goes into it's memory mode, and at the same time, my screeching brake lights come on, as I think, "oh no you don't, not again you unpredictable felines *ithches."

Wow, great story and a great personality I see in JV. He definitely is an intelligent fellow. He writes with great skill and I believe he may have missed his calling.
Got thru 20 pages and saw where you gave it up for this trip in 2013. Heck, that 20 pages took me probably over 2 hours. Never boring, though.

#541. There are weeklies all over the Vegas valley, but I would avoid them at all costs if I were you. The weeklies are overpriced dumps and attract a pretty subversive crowd. Try to find a sublet or a room available for rent on Craigslist or something if you don't want to sign a lease. If you have a car, try to get as far away from the strip as possible. Stay west or south.Originally posted by ABEHONESTI will offer a $20-4-team parlay to the one individual who covers my Las Vegas questions the best, or the most thorough.
And yes, my name speaks for itself.
I am also tinkering about the idea of moving there, too, being retired, and love to take on the challenge of having someone pay my rent--if I win.
I hear those casino-Books just love to give their money away to fanatical sports bettors like me.
Okay, seriously, some questions.
1. I may only want to rent a place for 3 months. I have made several calls--and when those apartment supervisors answer the phone--not often--they say a 6 month rental is the minimum they will do. Within that 3 month stay I will know if I can fall in love with glorious Las Vegas, or the other, take my lamea$$ back home a few pounds lighter[$].
The question: Where is it possible to only stay 3 months [ or even less] rather than the full 6 months?
2. I understand, checking on the internet, that football cards are back in full swing--I mean regular-paper, football cards, the ones that stay concrete until game time. Is that true? I understand , Cal-Neva, is the best with football cards? The electronic ones, I do believe, are not worthy of following because of constant changes.
3.What's allowed in those Sportsbooks? Say, cellphone, mini-laptops, etc. Do you have to fight for a table, a place you can study on your potential bets? Do you have to stand in line to bet a major-live TV game, for instance. That sounds too crude for me if true.
4. Betting accounts.
Can you call in bets at most Las Vegas Sportbooks? Also, is it possible to see their betting board online and then bet with any Books online?
** Thanks guys, for any reliable answers. That $20-4-team parlay could be yours, but, careful, do not start frothing form the mouth too soon. Lol
2. Yes, parlay cards exist at virtually every casino. Many take games that move too much off of the card though. They post which games are removed from the cards. So, keep an eye out on which books are more likely to do it than others. There are also some casinos that use "electronic" parlay cards on their mobile app. They change the spread daily on them and are essentially rip-offs - giving worse odds than off the board. So, pick up the paper parlay cards and bet at the window instead.
3. You can use any cell phone, tablet, or even laptop in the books - just not at the window. You legally cannot transmit line information or place wagers from inside the sportsbook electronically though. However, there is essentially no enforcement for those laws (other than the use of phones at the window).
4. Anyone in Nevada (whether visiting or a resident) can open a mobile betting account at those casinos that offer them. However, you need to be physically located in the state to place a wager. The mobile apps use your GPS location to determine where you are placing the wager from.Comment -

#55Very valuable news. I was thinking those paper cards sounded too good to be true. They were the hottest gaming pieces back in the 70's. You could get 4 or 5 different cards from individual Books back then. And turn them in on Saturday morning. Now...Originally posted by MonkeyF0cker1. #57My dog? Really? Great, now I will have to check it out for sure. I see many nice guys on here and I am pleasantly surprised at that find, too. I have used a sports-forum regularly in my area[anonymous] and you would not believe the hate and childish remarks "I" attract. I had to give those hate-mongers up. They were too many dreadful characters on that forum and 95% of the members seemed to act as one. And their act was biased to the bone against any so-called outsider like I was. And, the common denominator of hate came to someone like me because I knew my craft much better then most of those 95 percent'ers. It wasn't about gambling but about sports knowledge and opinions about sports or sport's stars, generally speaking.Originally posted by Jayvegas420I highly recomend Harbor Island. Here's two examples: Micheal Jordan and Jim Brown are the very best their individual sport has ever had. No one yet compares.

#64I have terrible allergies. I am getting up in age and I love sports. Great challenge to take LV, on, too. I am retired so I can look for the best deals available. I need a "kick in the pants," kind of thing. I am getting lazy--out of shape and I take that serious--and wasting my time watching time fly and taking too many naps while under the influence of those allergy infections. I love the variety of foods offered, plus, the famous custard of all-time, Luvs. Slurp.Originally posted by jjgoldAbe why you going?
I get 2 checks a month so I will survive any negatives LV tosses at me. I can always move somewhere else..easy-pleasey.
My greatest relatives are 90% gone and buried so I am only obligated to my dog. Divorced for 7 years and what an experience that was..
This new generation of people, lacking empathy and respect, are not worth my time. Including what relatives [generally speaking] I have left.
Also, lot'sa entertainment here and within 200 miles or so. The kind I like.
JJ, now you know and I am more of a lone wolf [understatement], as I have had too many losing dealings with the general public. So don't be surprised if I shy away from member's on SBR. Sorry, but like The Donald, I am what I am.

#70Not trying to win big on this trip coming up, so bankroll is no worry. Wanting to feel out the sites and casinos and later, hopefully, move out here.Originally posted by jjgoldAbe what will your roll be?
I could use some of your expertise by knowing beforehand what strip Books are too tight to mess with and the ones who are more relaxed. I like the football card bet and if one store allows some relaxed rules, I would be interested in playing those cards at that casino.
Parlays are the way to go, in my opinion. Well, 75% of the time.
You can play a 6 team'er and if you get 4 wins in a row, the momentum builds toward the next team or play and can be very exciting. You play 4 straights and lose 3 of them, ouch. Parlays will limit your chances of huge losses in one day. Huge loses and too many losers have been know to stun my brain for sometime. Especially ones like that "Hail-Merry" pass from 50-odd yards with 1 second to go, that was caught as a touchdown. I even forget with doggy team it was but it stung for for weeks and can take your confidence.
