Who the hell is making these schedules? GS and OKC have a 3 day break until game 3, while Cleveland/Toronto play every other day in the entire series. Cleveland/Toronto will finish their series 3 days before OKC/GS if they all go 7. Are you serious.
What the hell. OKC/GS don't play again until Sunday

#12Maybe it has something to do with the fact that distance between those Western cities is almost six times greater.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeWho the hell is making these schedules? GS and OKC have a 3 day break until game 3, while Cleveland/Toronto play every other day in the entire series.

#17Not offended at all but these guys are use to flying several hours a day on back to back games and 4 games in 6 days. I don't understand why they would give GS/OKC 3 days rest when Cavs/TOR will only get 1 day for the entire series. You would think they would alternate east/west. This could potentially give the East winner several extra days of rest. I'm trying to see the logic?Originally posted by ridersonthestormIt makes a difference one hour or three hours. #19This is the only time West gets more rest. Any other games - either in West, or East - will go after exactly ONE day rest each.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeNot offended at all but these guys are use to flying several hours a day on back to back games and 4 games in 6 days. East - 19, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29th of May
West - 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30th of May.
Probably in such way NBA tries to compensate more distance covered by the Westerners. East should be more fresh coming into final, as they will finish sooner in any case.Comment -

#23That doesn't make any sense. If Miami would have won the Toronto series the distance from Cleveland to Miami isn't much closer than OKC/GS. Either way, we're talking about a few hours in a plane. I think the schedule helps both Cleveland and GS which makes it looks like that's what the NBA is setting up.Originally posted by ridersonthestormThis is the only time West gets more rest. #24They can still have Sunday games. In fact, they could have had all 4 teams play this Sunday. I understand wanting to play on high viewership days but what does that have to do with them having Cle/Tor play 2 games before OKC/GS play 1?Originally posted by unusialsusp5tv ratings is the reason. only way they could get a sunday game is to do this and probably guarantee a sunday game the following week.Comment -

#26My guess is they make schedule on round-by-round basis, so in that case it could be slightly different.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeThat doesn't make any sense. #28Could be. Just very strange to have Cle/Tor play 2 games before OKC/GS play. It really looks like they're trying to give GS rest while making the Raptors play every other day after 2 long grueling game 7's.Originally posted by ridersonthestormMy guess is they make schedule on round-by-round basis, so in that case it could be slightly different.Comment -

#29With CLE so dominant in the East there is no need of any additional lead boots on TOR, I doubt NBA is interested in quick kill. After all longer series - more interest, more money. Especially since Canadian team reached East final for the first time since dinosaur age and there was hardly anything for cheering up there after total Canadian team debacle in the NHL.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeCould be. So I just guess very close proximity between both cities played big part in the compact schedule.Comment -

#31nba sick over the fact that there are no major tv markets involved. cleveland, toronto, oklahoma city, and san francisco (somewhat major) are going to drag down ratings and cost them money. so they have to make sure it's cleveland-golden state. fix is in. how many people would tune in to a toronto-oklahoma city final. ugh.Comment -
