Who usually pitches in these blowout games? Guys that are auditioning for more important roles or guys that are auditioning to keep their jobs. Imagine, you throw the perfect pitch that would normally strike the batter out but he hits a HR because he knew what was coming. That could mean the difference between millions and driving a UPS truck.
He mentioned a pitcher (since forgotten) whose ERA hovered around 4 for years.... then A-Tipper joins the squad and his ERA balloons over 7. Coincidence?Comment
