WHO Article suggests only 7 confirmed Swine Flu deaths in Mexico
Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO

A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.

Vivienne Allan, from WHO’s patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths - all in Mexico - and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.

“Unfortunately that [150-plus deaths] is incorrect information and it does happen, but that’s not information that’s come from the World Health Organisation,” Ms Allan told ABC Radio today.

“That figure is not a figure that’s come from the World Health Organisation and, I repeat, the death toll is seven and they are all from Mexico.”
    Are they correct?

That is correct ... out of the 153 that they are assuming have the flu ... only 7 or 8 have died.

I did hear that, he was from Texas. I think the media is guilty of a lot fear mongering right now, we're still in flu season and anyone that is showing any kind of flu-like symptoms are panicking. Seems like things are being painted with a broad brush.

The flu causes a serious pneumonia .. this is what has caused the death.

Lots of differing info it seems. There have been other reports saying people that have died of flu like symptoms in Mexico haven't been tested and neither flu nor pneumonia are being listed as the cause of death.

The Spanish flu in 1918 killed millions. What is your point?

People need to start asking themselves why the mainstream media is hyping this up so much? Who decided that 7 deaths due the flu was worthy of constant news alerts and front page headlines.
Maybe this is to distract people from something more important, hmm?

They're definitely using this 'outbreak' as their meal ticket, giving it round the clock coverage and pumping it up, exaggerating and controlling the info that's out there, all seemingly to create a widespread panic.

Historically, that means something is coming if you ask the conspiracy theorists.

So why has the WHO upgraded to level 5 on the pandemic scale?

Either its alot worse than they are telling us or this is a big distraction while they take away more of our rights and freedoms under our noses.
Wouldnt surprise me if this all ended in some kind of martial law and forced vaccination. I dont think they are quite ready to pull that off yet but they are going to try at some point.
Another interesting point here is that from my reading I have been doing on this the last few days, it appears that this virus may be some kind of natural form of a mutated laboratory virus.

I get the feeling there are two schools of thought with regard to the flu cases that are out there. Maybe the left hand is going one way within the WHO, and clearly whomever was interviewed in the article in the OP was of a contrasting viewpoint.
