They've closed schools here in this county now until May 11th Has zero to do with the flu, and everything to do with money. They know that parents are going to keep kids home, estimates in the 20%-30% range at minimum. And if those kids aren't in school, the district doesn't get their state money for them that day. If they close the schools, just like they would for a snow day, then they can tack those days on at the end of the year. Still silly since parents already have vacations planned in early June and will not be sending their kids to school on those days as well.
