You'd start Chad Johnson over Randy Moss- what?

Moss + Fitzgerald are the best receivers out of those 4.

He can start whoever he wants. Problem will be finding a team to play against because the British call soccer football.

I'm pretty sure the football you are reading there, is prob futbol. but if it is not spelled that way they still mean soccer. but let's pretend they really were gonna play gridiron football

some of the guys on that list will be retired for 2 years when the olympics comes around.
How will the Nfl teams feel about having their players risk injury in the games?

In a departure from usual form, a somewhat interesting topic from bconn.

My first thought is that 2012 is a long way off in football years. I'd be surprised if Tomlinson was still in the top handful of American RB's by then. He's slipping now. I agree with the choice of Peterson as starting RB.

I also agree with Peyton as the choice for American QB - if the game was today. 2012, who knows?

Regardless of if it's today or 2012, I don't see Chad Johnson in the equation.

You just better watch out for Team Canada. That's all I'm saying.

                  <H2>Football – Then and now

Football is one of the most widely played and oldest games in existence. The ancient Chinese, Greeks and Romans played something very similar to Football long before the English Kings in the 1300s and 1400s tried to outlaw what they described as a violent sport.

In modern terms, Football began when the Football Association of England was founded in 1863. The game was spread throughout the world by English sailors who used to play it wherever they went.

How to play – and win

Football is played on an outdoor grass pitch by two teams of 11 players.

The aim of the game is to score a goal by putting the ball in the other team’s net. The team that scores the most goals wins.

Only the goalkeepers on each team are allowed to touch the ball with their hands. The other players use their feet, head and body to move it around the pitch.

Matches are played over 90 minutes – two 45-minute halves.

                  Football in the Games

Men’s Football was a demonstration event at the first modern Olympic Games in Athens 1896.

It became a full medal sport from London 1908. At Barcelona 1992, professional players were allowed to take part in the Games for the first time. The rules were changed to make it an Under-23 event, with three players over this age allowed in every team.

Women’s Football has no age limits and appeared at the Games for the first time in Atlanta 1996.

There will only be a few teams, plus it could start before the opening ceremonies like other sports.

North Europeans dominate strength contests. Plus the jamaicans are fast, but we are superior physically to all others overall.

I guess the fact no other country besides Canada has a league is irrelevant. All you need to play football is bodybuilders and sprinters. To make it fair then the US team shouldn't have any NFL players. We take the US weightlifting team and the US sprint team and let them play football.

Huh? I'm just saying that we are bigger stronger faster than foreigners. The only foreigners who could compete with NFL players are elite foreign weightlifters and sprinters, lets see some little rugby player get smashed.

Of course you could. There would only be one game. U.S v Canada. No one else in the world bothers to play NFL, well not seriously anyway. There is only one true football that is played in every country around the world that deserves to be played at the Olympics. The game is so big they only send their under 23's to play as the World Cup is the pinnacle of world sport. Open your eyes people.

                                                          1. Tonga or Samoa would probably beat Canada.

                                                          2. They send the U23 teams (with 3 player exceptions) because they don't want to devalue their world cup. Baseball never sent its top players either.

I cant see NFL teams risking players in the olympics.
Can you imagine Larry Fitzgerald suffered a career ending injury in the Olympics. There goes the Cards future.
