Was going to let them sort it out, but after 45 mins, enough was enough
So about 10 mins after I call, I hear the police banging on the door upstairs. "POLICE OPEN UP". Knock like four times.

Girl opens the door and says "We don't need police we need an ambulance!"

5 mins later there are 2 ambulances and another police car. Outside downstairs. Heard a bunch of footsteps running up the stairs.

After about 10 or 15 mins of confusion on my end, conviniently for me 3 cops are standing right outside my front door, one relaying what happened to the others. Apparently the guy was 21 years old and drunk and he "sliced her arm open", don't know what that entails... through the window saw a woman being escorted out by police and saw a man taken out in handcuffs.

Wow wow wow. Could have been worse. I'm really glad I called.

****in' A, area is beautiful and safe as can be. Just seemed to be a bit of domestic violence. The kicker is I'd heard them fight before but didn't think much of it as couples do fight... shudder to think about it.

good job pal, 99% of the time calling cops is a punk move but for a situation like this good call, women beaters are not thought of kindly even amongst those who are not fans of the police

Lived there for about a year and Coach is right, people there are very aggresive and physical. Many fights, a lot of drugs and rowdiness.

Yeah, I was hesitant to call the cops at first, because obviously you are brought up as a kid to know you only call 911 IN A SERIOUS EMERGENCY. How can you really tell from noise?

If they were just yelling I wouldn't have called the cops over it... couples fight and yes it sucks to lose some sleep but that would have been a "punk move" as you describe.

What set me off was the loud crashing noises, at least twice there was a very loud thud that couldn't have been anything other than a person falling to the ground. The combination of screaming, loud crashes and thuds, and a woman crying loudly warranted the call.

They were screaming loud enough to wake up the whole complex, and according to the cops he was pretty drunk. I doubt he will deduce that the call came from me.

If he did, hey, that's what door locks are for.

I live literally a 2 minute walk away from the police and fire station.

I have to admit, I was impressed/surprised too with how quick the response was.

Why would I make up a domestic abuse story?

So when we moved up here full-time about seven years ago, I make it a point to introduce myself to some of the local shopkeepers I'll be seeing regularly such as at the liquor and hardware stores. One day at the little slide-n-glide near my home, there's a young constable in the parking lot so I figure I'll go introduce myself to him and see what's shakin' on his beat.

I ask him what the two most frequent calls he gets and he tells me "domestic violence and meth labs." Couldn't help but chuckle a little. I point to my gut and tell him, "Well, it's pretty obvious I'm not doing a lot of speed myself, and considering I live amidst all of my in-laws, if you get a call about domestic violence at my house, it will be for a body recovery since my paw-in-law would kill me."

Similar thing happened to me once in Michigan -- I heard the woman break a mirror and she was yelling on the phone -- she had a kid in there crying. Dude came home and things escalated -- so the cops came (someone else must have called) and took him away. Never heard a peep from them again.

10min for a noise complaint? Last time I called in one of those, took 3 hours. Some ahole was blasting salsa music for 3 days straight.

I think DramaDave feels a little insecure cause his QB buddy just got drafted into the millionaires club while he's making videos for $10/hr. So he's making this up for attention purposes.

I see a TV show in the making Willie. Instead of "Meet The Browns" on TBS we could have "Meet The Bees". Instaed of a suburb in Georgia, it would be set in an apartment complex in Texas. Dave could be the neighbor that borrows sugar (and $$ to gamble) and Willie could be the down on his luck guy with an overbearing father-in-law. TBS.....VERY FUNNY!!!

As they love to say around here, unreal.

I didn't tell the cops "my neighbors are being loud", I told them there might be trouble because I heard screaming and crashing noises and a woman crying. Its a little more serious than salsa music

On the plus side, I'm glad to hear that I got a raise while I was asleep. $10/hr baby!

Domestic abuse generally commands a bit more attention than someone complaining about loud music.

I once saw a chick toss her guy out of their apartment, literally. Right off the second story balcony. He laid there like a little bitch with a broken clavicle while she just went inside. She wouldn't even open the door when the cops showed up. They had to kick the door in. She was watching TV and tried to ignore them. All of this was, yup, over another woman.
