my first week taking bets.........went horrible

so i have a few friends that like to bet and place some bets online. They'd always be bugging me to place there wagers and i always would for free, they'd pay me back via paypal. so last week i told the 4 of em that i would take all their bets, just text me what you want( i told them id take any line from carib sports dot com), so then i would just push the action off on 5 dimes with the reduced juice and usually 1/2 point better line they offer, the average bet size was about 150, so id give them 150/136 and then push it off on 5 dimes and make about 4 bucks on every wager placed, these guys bet alot so i made $375 over 2 weeks pushing there action off on 5 dimes. So finally one of my clients calls me and says he wants a 6 team parlay, i thought it had no chance i didnt touch covering it, for 50 bucks, it hits cracks me for $2100

Sounds like you had a good thing going just taking bets. Next time, if your gonna not bet the parlay, try hedging just in case.

AAO 5 games were morning baseball games and all started at the same time, in order to hedge it off i woulda needed to drop 3000 on the Portland spread at -110, and it wasnt worth it, for now on would it just be good to cover parlays 90% ? for isntance , bet 45 bucks on that parlay so if it losses like it should i make 5 bucks or loose only a little bit

If you want to take parlays, you can charge them x for x and then find somewhere that pays better. Either way, if you stick to your guns, youll make a killing. It might not happen alot, but off the free half points alone you could make a killing.

especially because 5 dimes offers 3 sets of lines for the NBA playoffs, if im giving someone -5 at carib , and 5 dimes has it at -4.5, for -5 i can even get a + odds line.

for instance tonight i took on, lakers -12.5 -110 100/90 and i just took that same line at -102 on 5 dimes 96/94

i have 7k sitting in 5 dimes loaded that up for baseball season but then i have some more spread around that's non gambling money, if this seems to go good and i can make a extra 500-700 a month its worth is to me, ill just have to either cover most of the parlays or give out smaller odds on payouts,

Or, if you take it, reduce your exposure like you do on all your other bets.
