It's real simple. You can talk about systems and anything else you want to talk about, but if you do not have a gamblers 6th sense, you do not have enough to win consistently. You have to have that something that tells you when to back off a wager that looks solid. That same thing has to tell you when to roll the dice on what appears to be an "iffy" wager. Few people have it, and that is why there are so few people in here who are winners. There is so much information out there that I can shoot down any team on any given day. By the same token, I can also build up any team on any given day. You either have it or you do not, and people looking for systems or other people to follow do NOT have it and never will.

i agree 100%......... could describe it fairly generically - home teams undervalued on larger spreads or something like that. or divulge it to a couple of members through inbox and get feedback

basically the big things systems are that 1) it makes some logical sense - not too hard to come up with theories for simple systems; 2) ties into #1. make sure it's not overly complex which another expression for "overfit"

most people here mention needing a certain sample size........ i'd say backward looking biases, data mining and overfitting come first. is it even a reasonable winning system for the time frame cited? let alone the future.
