I think the Toronto matchup is very interesting. What do you guys think of Banniser's pitching? Did he have one lucky outing? Will he suck as badly as the projections predict?

I would have a hard time backing KC in this spot:

      A. The Royals have scored 13 runs in their last five games while hitting .205

      B. Bannister was 0-6 with a 5.89 ERA in his final eight starts at Kauffman Stadium last season.

I don't put much weight on recent performance for KC's offense... But even without it, their offense is below average. I've seen a broad range of projections for Bannister, and all of them make Toronto the right side on this one.

Justin, I would think Bannister comes back somewhat to earth tonight. Lots of stuff to look at in this one. KC doesn't score on average and have struggled versus lefty starters. On the other hand, Purcey is nothing to write home about. With Soria out for KC, I think the balance tells me this is a no play tonight.

That's a tough one. But I think the CHONE projection is the most accurate. I think Bannister had a Zach Duke-esque rookie year. His BABIP in 2007 seems like an anomoly.

Brian Bannister........WOW! My hat is off to ya. Great performance. That's a pretty stellar offense he shut down tonight.

I was a bit surprised myself. On the other hand, he had 2 KOs vs 6 walks in 7 innings. I think I'll keep fading him for awhile.

When hitting openers, mainly the big 3: Pinnacle, Cris, Greek. If you bet $500 or less, you MUST have outs at 5Dimes and BetJamaica also.

Carlos Ruiz assigned to Reading Phillies from Philadelphia Phillies.

I liked the under already. Ruiz hasn't played in a bit, but having him out is enough to pull the trigger.
