Graham Taylor rookie starter (florida/phils)

Graham Taylor will make his maiden appearance today against the world champs, trying to keep Florida from getting swept at home against the Phillies and swept by Pennsylvania (lost 3 straight to the buccos last week) Overall the marlins are on a 5 game slide after their hot start.

Taylor, a lefty, has never pitched an inning above AA and has only had 8 starts above High A ball...


this year he has a whip of 1.32 and an era of 3.24 in 3 starts spanning 16.2 innings.... his last start was rough giving up 8 hits 3 walks and 3 runs in 4.2 innings.


Moyer mounts the bump for the Phillies today.... Taylor was 2 years old when Moyer had his first major league appearance in 1986 with the cubs.


think I'm gonna take my chances with Moyer and his old arm and wise ways at +110..... the line is now -101 to -110 at different shops...

I hear ya sally, neither guy has much of a fastball... hell moyer's fastball is not much of a change-up from most pitchers... but i'll take his experience.... this taylor has less then 10 AA starts and is a control pitch to contact type hitter....

He wasn't even invited to spring training camp, I'm hoping his Jitters will through of his control and he'll hang some pitches up in the zone.
